Album: San Francisco/AGU
On December 5-9th I completed the IRIS internship by going to the AGU (American Geophysical Union) meeting in San Franciso. There weren't many exciting things to take pictures of at the meeting, but we did manage to venture out a couple nights and do some sight seeing.

Album: The Flatirons
The Flatirons begin about a quarter mile from where I'm staying in Chataqua Park. The park is part of Open Space and Mountain Parks, and is free for everyone to enjoy. I've been on a couple of hikes up there but I plan to do more in my last week and a half, starting tomorrow evening with a hike up to Royal Arch with Christina.

Album: SNEP 21 Sunset and the National Earthquake Information Center
This is a combination of both my last field station visit at SNEP 21 mini and our visit to the USGS at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden to see the National Earthquake Information Center.

Album: Yosemite
On 6/19/05 the whole group got up early to head up to Yosemite. We went to the Sequoia grove in the Southern part of the park, and began the day with a 5 mile hike. Yosemite Valley was next where we went up to Vernal Falls, Yosemite Falls, and Bridalveil Falls. The day concluded with watching the sunset at Glacier Point...

Album: Sonora Pass, Station Servicing, some Cool Cows, and Kings River Canyon
We serviced some stations the day before we left for Oakhurst. On the way there we stopped at Sonora Pass, and then serviced our first station with the help of some very cool cows.

Album: Site Scouting
We spend all day on the 9th scouting for future SNEP sites. This is probably one of the best parts of the job because it's pretty much like sightseeing only places where most people don't go. We were also near the Bristlecone Pines, which we didn't get to see due to a 4th flat tire...

The second day off (6/8/2005) we went to Gull Lake and around the June Lake Loop...the first part of the next day we drove through Red Rock Canyon on the way to scout Cottonwood Canyon...

Album: Bodie-Our First Day Off!
After 4 straight stations, we decided to go to the Ghost Town Bodie for our first day off (6/7/2005)...
