Hello, my name is Amanda Thomas and I'm a 22 year old PhD student in Geophysics at the University of California, Berkeley.  My principle research interests are in seismology and active tectonics.   Aside from my academic endeavors, I also enjoy photography and traveling.  My other hobbies include cooking, hiking, reading, learning Italian, and breaking/fixing this website.

    My photographic arsenal includes a Nikon D200 digital body, 18-135mm f/3.5-4.5, 70-200mm f/2.8, 60mm f/2.8 macro, 50mm f/1.8, SB-800 speedlight, and micellaneous other accesories priced at least an order of magnitude less than the aforementioned.
